dachshund problems

well if it's not one it's the other lol .... not really funny but i guess at least they are good sisters and take turns.
so earlier this week we had a scare with ms olive, she was acting weird. not jumping not even to bit fingers off to get her treat. she would cry out if you picked her up and we noticed that she started to favor her back right leg. she also cried out that whole night every time she got up and moved to get comfortable (with having Justin's mom staying with us, we had to move her from the kitchen to our room to try to keep her quieted) aka it was a long night! now i always google stuff  which is kinda good it gets me prepared for the worst of the worst so when i called her vet and they acted like a possible spinal injury was nothing big i was pretty upset. (which turned out pretty good because it kept my boss off my back all day, he was in a smart * kind of attitude with everyone) i got her into our  "back up vet" and got her checked out that afternoon, lucky for us she had only sprain her back and there was a much high chance of everything resolving and her getting back to her old self. speaking of old.... we have to act like she's a "grandma dog" according to the vet so for now no running or jumping or stairs and no walks, she just has to pretty much lay there and get better. when i told Justin this he laughed "how are we going to keep her from running" she's the dog that if she cooped up for to long she will run from the front door into ether the kitchen or living room back and forth till she runs out of breath . but i was reading the side affects of her pills and they can have the affect of mood altering, in other words we are on day three of relaxing and she pretty much just lays around all day just gets up long enough to drink and eat and then lays down we will see if this can keep of for ten days or not. but if she doesn't get better she will have to get x-rayed and then there is a possible chance of surgery :( poor girl it sucks having such a long back. so we'll keep our fingers crossed that she gets better :)
